Dear Champions,
It was quite recent that we started “Kailaba For Student“, erasmus mundus enthusiast-focused dedicated service portal. I was receiving overwhelming number of requests to review motivation letters for Erasmus Mundus, all scattered on my linkedIn inbox, to my personal gmail, to whatsapp inbox — all everywhere. To solve this scattered review system, and to better organize, to provide efficient, actionable advices, Kailaba For Student – Student portal was born. Soon of it’s launch, I met Life With Krris – a recent erasmus mundus (MBUILD) scholar from Nepal. We both, belong from the almost similar background, but more to this, personally, what is connecting to us, is the way we both did struggle to navigate the daunting yet rewarding journey of Erasmus Mundus. Exactly, this is where we share the common goal, common objective, of demystifying the very JOUNREY. I (as Kailaba or Shiva Gyawali) and Krris (as Life With Krris) are constantly, independently working to help navigate fellow applicants on their own journey. To enrich our common goal, We started collaborating so as to reach to wider range of student.
Out of 67 registrants on our portal, one story is quite closure to me. When I read every word of her story, I was imagining a techie girl, lost in terminals, monitors, RGB-light filled dark room and gaming world, now looking a way there to transcend her gaming mind trancend to gamifying the education sector with the aid of XR equipped game development, was very inspiring for me. Her story, for me, was not an usual Erasmus Mundus applicants, but a moment of something special. I felt so intense for her particular case, is because, when she uploaded her first draft to our portal for the review, application deadline was already gone. She literally was getting the golden chance, to submit application even after her program’s application period was already done.
If you are following the Erasmus Mundus programs, watching closely how applicants and competition were increasing, her story would look unnatural. I was in shock as well, as i ask her,
“When is our expected deadline?”
As deadline were very important for us, to make time to give a thorough review to her Motivation Letter. Yet, I went through her program, and it felt that every moment is deadline, as they are seeking for right candidate to come and they can close it anytime. So, I prioritized her letter. We worked together, for 3 days, constantly, refining her story, aligning it to her program, and expressing her passion with her future-self. After the 4th revision, we agreed to move forward, as there exist no such thing as a perfect motivation letter.
Okay, so what? Why did I felt so much closure to her story? What’s in it that made it special than the rest?
It was the way, Erasmus mundus unfolded itself to her. I will share you my story, on how Erasmus Mundus unfolded to me on another article, but you can anyway, read my dearest brother’s story on why he quit Erasmus Mundus (Cyberus). Good things happens in his will, even the universe can guide you through instagram – as in her own words:
I think the universe showed me the path ,
“LifewithKriss” appeared on my Instagram feed.
She found herself guiding through Krris’s videos, when she was looking for scholarship opportunities to advance her Game development passion. Like I was back then, she was now with no ducking idea about what Erasmus mundus is all about? as in her words:
She (Krris) had explained everything about
Erasmus Mundus and even offered to review motivation letters for her followers.
Before that,
I had no idea what Erasmus Mundus was.
and voila, she ended up knowing about GRACE, and even better, knowing it during the “THE GOLDEN MOMENT”.
Dear champions, let us present you the story of our Erasmus Mundus Scholar on GRACE program, Nayasha. Though her course on BSc. Hon. on Computing has less thing to do with Game development than her curiousity of How. Which led her to self-teach Unity, and later on, established herself being a Games Programmer. With this experience, she found her hunger for transcending gamification into education, health, and vocational training – area where she found herself perfectly aligned with GRACE’s core objective. Her story is the story of a seeker – as saying goes,
as deeper you seek, the thing you are seeking will also seek you the deeper, closer, and clearer.
I can bet you, on how unbelievable it would have been for her, when she saw the acceptance email, as it was for me back then. With every bit of her experience, I am reviving my own experience. It was no different than how Erasmus mundus unfolded itself to her.
Trust, first of all, on yourself. If it’s meant for you, it will seek a way to you. Even the whole world may doubt on you, there must be ONE person, pushing you, guiding you, and telling you, “Hey buddy, I am no away from, I trust you. Don’t worry, we will seek, and keep seeking until it unfolds.” and that person, must, at least, BE YOU.
I am quite tired, so, I can’t think better way than this to express how blessed I am feeling to know that Nayasha has been selected for the GRACE Erasmus Mundus scholarship, yet, I had a strong urge to share with you. Don’t wait, don’t let yourself be down – by noise – by others voice. We all know, how competitive Erasmus Mundus is getting, yet, I say to you, Have a TRUST on YOURSELF.
We, all kailaba, and Kailaba For Student team wish you for your awesome journey. We are eager to see the NEW YOU, dear Nayasha. Welcome to the partyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, bingooo!!!
